Matthew 25:31-46
1. How do you suppose it felt when that first group heard their invitation from the King? How confident are you that you will hear that same invitation?
2. Did the simplicity of the acts that Jesus mentioned surprise you? Why do you think those were the acts that He noticed? Why do you think those responsible for those acts didn’t even recall them?
3. How does it affect your view toward the “needy” among us to realize that Jesus describes them the way He does in verse 40?
4. Scott mentioned our Western mindset which tends to say that when it comes to ministry “bigger is better” and it’s all about the “glitz and glamor.”
-Do you agree or disagree? Why? (Mt 20:28 might be a helpful reference)
-How do you think we do with that at Salisbury?
5. The balance to question 1 and verse 34 comes in verse 41. What emotions do those words from the King evoke in you?
-Who do you know that is in danger of hearing them?
-Let’s stop right now and spend time in prayer for them…
6. Here are the scriptures that Scott rolled through rather rapid fire. Go back now and read through them together. Let them encourage you that the work of Jesus is complete in providing us with access to the category of the righteous.
