Scott Sims

Role: Sr. Pastor

scott@salisbury-church.org - Blog: scottqsims.wordpress.com

Scott Sims became Salisbury's lead pastor in January 1992. As lead pastor, he gives the primary preaching / teaching during weekend services at Charleston Campus, ensures Salisbury Church is on track and stays on track, and performs the responsibilities of counseling, weddings and funerals.

Scott believes the Church at large shares responsibility for bringing glory to God - the duty left initially by Jesus - and that Salisbury's unique responsibility is finding needs within the greater Coles County community and meeting them in God's name.

Here are some interesting facts about Scott:
  • Salisbury has always been his home church. He grew up on a farm three miles east of the Hutton church building.
  • In December 1985 he married his wife, Jacqie, and they now have four children - Caleb, Keagan, Alexa and Alivia.
  • He received a bachelor's degree from Liberty University and a master's degree from Grace Seminary.
  • He enjoys traveling and spending time with missionaries.  These adventures have taken him to Israel, Senegal, Ukraine, Guatemala, Brazil, and Cuba.
  • He also enjoys reading books that make him scratch his head, or doing just about anything that gets him into God's creation.
