Brandon shared in this message about how our view of God can be badly distorted when we look at Him through the lens of our earthly fathers.

 

1. How has your relationship with your father affected the way you view God?

 

2. What kind of fatherly qualities can you think of in Jesus when you look at His ministry?

 

Read Isaiah 40:11.  This scripture gives us a descriptive illustration of the gentle strength of our Father. 

 

3. What other descriptions might you use to describe the Everlasting Father?

 

4. How can the church help those outside of Christ see Him as their Everlasting Father?

 

5. For those of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord, how should the knowledge of our adoption affect the way we live?

 

Take some time to pray for those who are 'orphaned' today, those who haven't accepted their adoption by God.  Specifically pray for those that you know, that they might be drawn by His love, and that God might use you to be an example of His love.
